Day 1: Ljubljana & Velika Planina

Begin with the capital before moving into the mountains.

• Pickup from your Ljubljana accommodation.

• Time in Ljubljana’s historic centre, with major sights around Town Square, Triple Bridge, Prešeren Square and the castle area.

• Continue toward the Kamnik area and the cable-car access for Velika Planina.

• Ascend to the plateau using the local cable-car system.

• Walk toward the traditional herdsmen’s settlement.

• Experience its distinctive low-roofed shepherd huts and high-Alpine landscape.

• Return to Ljubljana.

Official Velika Planina information describes the herdsmen’s settlement as one of the few of its scale in Europe, with shepherds and cattle returning during the summer grazing season.

Day 2: Bled & Bohinj Lakes
